I just read Harry Deitz's column about Good Morning Reader stories. Suddenly it hit me: Harry is he reincarnation of Mister Rogers.

His column should be accompanied by the Mister Rogers theme song, and there should be video of Harry changing from shoes to sneakers and putting on a sweater.

That's an insult to Mr. Rogers. He was much more animated and thoughtful than Mr. Deitz.

Now there's another phony column by Harry. He wants everyone to volunteer and do other community work. Maybe the Eagle should put its money where its mouth is, and take care of all the employees it screwed out of severance money.

Charity begins at home, right?

Harry has a lot of nerve telling other people what to do when his company treats its own people like garbage.

The only community work the Eagle knows is taking money from people and ripping them off. And filling the newspaper with pablum nonsense like his column instead of real news.

Harry should take a cue from Tony Hayward of BP and resign. He's done enough damage.

I couldn't agree more, "Not Wild About Harry". Wouldn't it be neat to see the place go under? The editorial content sucks and did anyone notice the full page ad in Sunday's edition begging for subscribers? I'm a weekend only subscriber now only because of high school football. If that coverage is as poor as last year, I'm stopping everything. Bill Flippin.....GFY!

The Sunday edition is a joke. I remember when Berks & Beyond and Lifestyle had huge feature pacakges each week.

As a current employee of the Reading Eagle I am so sick and tired of people say "wow, wouldn't it be great if the local paper went under! "...no, it wouldn't. There are a lot of people that work there that have families to support so to cheer for its demise is just mean. Some people need to get a hobby or maybe (just maybe) try to get a life and stop hating. Where does it get you?

Management would throw you under the bus in a heartbeat, Susan, just like they did Krissie and Ron. They have no loyalty to their workers. The company deserves to die.

Susan, keep in mind the 140+ former employees who were screwed by rec. Keep in mind how bill flippin ran the co. into the ground and his employees are the ones suffering, not him. Remember he gave the controls of the ship to little larry orkus so he wouldn't have to spend too much time worrying about running a business and could continue his daily 3 hour lunch schedule at Moselem. Rec got rid of good hard working people and kept the likes of rich auman,(grass cutting ass kisser), john ernesto,( jazz fest & maple grove double dipper), joe pelchar, ( spineless clock watching jellyfish), ed floto,( dumb ass gimp), zeke,( football prognosticator???)...the list goes on and on. No Susan, it will be great when this rag goes under!
