Us Weekly had reported earlier this year that Jon Gosselin, Kate Gosselin's ex husband, was offered $500,000 in order to compete on ABC
's Dancing With the Stars. However, according to MSNBC, those previous reports were wrong.
Reportedly, Jon Gosselin turned down the offer because he did not want to "put any strain on the family."
Sources close to Jon Gosselin, and to ABC, both confirmed that there was never any offer on the table for Jon to be on the show. A good thing too, as it might have proven too much of a distraction for Kate Gosselin, who was already struggling with the steps.
A source close to DWTS said, "Generally speaking, if someone is talking about getting an offer from Dancing With the Stars, they are not getting an offer from Dancing With the Stars. When people are really in talks to be part of the show, they don’t say anything about it."
His ex, Kate, was voted off the show about two weeks ago, after consistently receiving some of the lowest marks every week.
