T.G. it's not Friday and you are starving
Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 08:05AM Restaurants are closing and the business editor is on the case:
In Broadcasting Square Shopping Center, Spring Township, Pizza by Pubs has an application posted for a Pennsylvania liquor license in the name of Seafood Shanty.
The site had been one of four Pizza by Pubs' Uno Chicago Grill franchises, which all closed in early 2010 and reopened shortly thereafter as Mason's Chophouse.
Mason's Chophouse occupied the same locations as Uno Chicago Grill in Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., and Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Mason's Chophouse and the locations in the South closed in July 2010.
Coincidentally, Seafood Shanty was the name of a popular seafood restaurant in Berks County.
The Original Seafood Shanty had been a 14-restaurant chain with locations in Spring and Exeter townships.
Seafood Shanty was founded by Joseph Gentile in 1970, according to newspaper accounts.
The business went into bankruptcy reorganization in 1990.
Is this one of the most confusing stories ever or what?:
