Jim Gerlach will wait a month before deciding whether to give up House seat to lose a race for governor

The agony goes on. Rep. Jim Gerlach said he will decide next month whether to give up the House seat he has held since 2003 to mount a longshot bid for governor. Asked if he'll run for either House or governor, Gerlach responded, "I think that would be safe to say."

He did say that running for Arlen Specter's Senate seat is "pretty much off the table," which means the moderate congressman knows he's not crazy enough to win the GOP primary, and once he's finished teasing his gullible supporters, he'll admit he's too sane to win a gubernatorial primary either and concentrate his efforts on getting the photos to display properly on his Web site.
