When a Dumpster can't be found, a vat of grease will have to do

Criminals are running wild in the Lehigh Valley, and the Allentown Morning Call is on a roll bringing you the latest news.

Here's a fragrant tale about a fellow sought for stealing wire from a Monroe County pizza shop...and spilling over a vat of grease while he tried to defecate into it.

The Morning Call has the pic!

But where was the photo to accompany this companion police blotter piece about a serial thief preying on area Wal-Marts?

Police in Muhlenberg Township, Berks County, on Tuesday released several Wal-Mart surveillance photos of the man and his vehicle, which has been either a new black Ford Edge or a late-model silver Toyota or Kia minivan. Police are hoping the public can help identify him.

The man allegedly stole two computers worth about $2,500 from the Wal-Mart in Temple, Berks County, in May. Police said he distracted store employees before fleeing with the merchandise.

He also is suspected in similar retail thefts at Wal-Marts in Bucks, Schuylkill, Northumberland, Columbia and Union counties over the last two years. Police said the thefts entail distracting store employees and then fleeing, usually through an emergency fire exit.

Anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the thefts is asked to contact local police or the Muhlenberg Township Police Department at 610-929-5454.

Trouble is, as one commenter pointed out, "The police released surveillance photos, but MCALL employees are too stupid to post them."  Stated another: "This article is factually incorrect: WalMart doesn't sell high-end electronics."
